Rajoana complains of chest pain, rushed to hospital

Balwant Singh Rajoana, a convict on death row in connection with the assassination of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, complained of chest pain and was rushed to a government hospital here today.
Rajoana was admitted to Rajindra Medical College and Hospital after he was taken there from the Central Jail here following complaint of chest pain.
Hospital Principal K D Singh told PTI a three-member Board of doctors was constituted to examine Rajoana.
Tests conducted on Rajoana were found satisfactory, he said.
However, Rajoana had been referred to PGIMER Chandigarh for detailed examination, Singh said.
The death row prisoner was discharged from the hospital and taken back to the Central Jail.
He would be taken to PGIMER soon under tight security arrangements, a jail official said.
