Raju resumes work from Shastri Bhawan chamber

HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju, who stayed away from office for over two months protesting the creation of Telangana, today resumed work from his chamber in Shastri Bhawan, which houses his ministry.
Immediately after his arrival, Austrian ambassador to India Bernhard Wrabetz called on him following which he chaired a meeting for selection of a director for IIT Bombay.
Raju had been mostly attending official work either from his official residence or from the committee room of the Ministry since October 4.
While he had started attending official functions about a month ago, ministry officials would brief him at his residence. The minister's absence from his chamber was considered symbolic and an attempt at appeasing his voters in his constituency.

"There was no prior information until he turned up at about 3 PM, leaving us surprised," confided a senior Ministry official.
However, in the coming weeks he would mostly stay put at his constituency which is still witnessing unrest over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Raju is also slated to go to the US on a private visit during the weekend.
Speaking at a function on November 6 here, Raju had said "I am going through a very different way of working myself. In reality I have quit being a minister, I have submitted my resignation to the Prime Minister which he has not accepted as yet.
