Union minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Tuesday declared assets worth Rs 10.68 crore, according to the affidavit he submitted while filing his nomination papers from the Jaipur rural Lok Sabha seat.
His wife Gayatri Rathore and daughter Gauri Rathore have moveable assets worth Rs 2.05 crore and Rs 3.93 lakh respectively. There is no immovable asset in their names, the affidavit says.
The 49-year-old shooter and Olympian possesses 14 weapons-- 10 0.12 bore gun, one 0.357 pistol, one rifle, one 0.22 bore rifle and one 0.30 bore rifle.
Of them, 10 are prize awards and two ancestral weapons.
During the 2014 general election, the total value of moveable and immovable assets owned by Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was Rs 4.89 crore and his wife and daughter had moveable assets worth Rs 1.87 crore and Rs 1.27 lakh respectively.
The minister, who took voluntary retirement from the Indian Army in 2013 to join politics, is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the second time. The party has retained him on the Jaipur rural Parliamentary constituency where the Congress has fielded Olympian and discus throwerKrishnaPoonia against him.
Jaipur rural seat, which has 19.33 lakh voters, including 9.12 lakh female, is among the 12 Lok Sabha constituencies in Rajasthan which will go to polls in the fifth phase on May 6.
