Rakhi festival brings UK sister from London to Bodh Gaya

Inspired by the raksha bandhan festival, a British woman travelled all the way from London to tie the sacred thread to her brother living in Bodh Gaya for past over two decades.
The sister Christine tied the rakhi on the wrist of her brother Nick Hensen.
"We are highly impressed with the rich Indian custom and tradition and celebrated raksha bandhan," Hensen said expressing enthusiasm.
Hensen works in a charitable trust based in Bodh Gaya having world famous Buddhist shrine. Hensen who coordinates flow of foreign fund to the trust is staying in the holy town of BodhGaya for the past 22 years.

He said his sister is a teacher in a school in London and when he told her about the raksha bandhan festival, she was so enthused by it that she decided to travel from London to tie him the rakhi.
Christine in a traditional Indian style applied tilak on forehead of her brother and tied him rakhi in the presence of members of the trust and prayed for his long life.
