Rally for peace in Haflong

A mass rally for peace
and development and in protest against social maladies such as alcoholism, child labour, bandh culture, etc, was held at Haflong town in Assam's Dima Hasao district today.
The rally was organised by the Dima Hasao District Administration in association with the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), said a government release here.
Citizens, including Government and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) employees, school and college students, social organisations and traders participated in the rally that started from Haflong Cultural Institute Hall and ended at the Town Committee Field.
The rally was led by Deputy Commissioner Juri Phukan with the participation of NCHAC Executive Member Nirmal Langthasa, Principal Secretaries Ramesh Thaosen and Mukut Kemprai, Joint Secretary L Zovi Nampui.
