Ramgarh first 100 per cent electrified district of Jharkhand

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Friday declared Ramgarh as the first hundred per cent electrified district of the state.

Das made the announcement at a function in Rajrappa in the presence of local MLA and Drinking Water, Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Chandra Prakash Chaudhary and senior officials of the state.

After getting the first open defecation free district tag of Jharkhand, Ramgarh now has became the first completely electrified district of the state.

Addressing village panchayat bodies and villagers, the chief minister congratulated officials of Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (JUVNL), Jharkhand Bijali Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) and mukhiyas of panchayats for putting in hard work to make the states first ODF district and first 100 per cent electrified district of the state.

"I am happy to declare Ramgarh, which has already got the status of being the first ODF district of the state, as the first 100 per cent electrified district of the state with hard work done by panchayats and state officials with coordination with district administration," Das said.

Chaudhary said that Ramgarh created history by becoming the first 100 per cent electrified district while the district already has got the status of being the first ODF district of the state.

Jharkhand Energy Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni said 9.5 lakh household in the state got electric connection in the last 10 months and the government has strategic plans to ensure 24-hour power supply to each household of the state.

Rahul Purvar, the managing director of JBVNL said that Ramgarh district has altogether 305 villages and as many as 40,000 households in the district has been electrified.
