Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Tuesday announced that Ranchi district is now fully electrified and 24-hour electricity will be ensured in the capital city by 2019, an official release said.
Only 4 lakh houses of Ranchi had power connection in 67 years, while during the 4 years of this government, 2,13,374 houses got the same, he said.
The chief minister congratulated all who have contributed in this work.
"By 2019, 24-hour electricity will be ensured in the urban and rural areas of the capital," the release said quoting Das.
Das also laid foundation stone for 132/33 KV grid sub-centers for Irba and Silli areas.
Urging the people to do solar farming on roof-top and barren land, Das said, "The government will buy power at the rate of Rs 3 per unit. In addition, the government will provide 50 per cent subsidy for solar farming."
