Rane said the main contest in the October 15 Assembly polls is between his party and the BJP.
"Shiv Sena and NCP are nowhere in the picture. Congress is expected to do well and form the next government," Rane told reporters at Kankavli town in Sindhudurg district.
Asked about the party's poll advertisements prominently featuring Prithviraj Chavan and virtually projecting him as the chief ministerial candidate, Rane said the ads depict Chavan when he was in office and not as CM candidate.
However, he said the decision in this regard would be taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
