Rao for international standard-roads in Telangana

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today asked officials to prepare plans to make roads in the state on par with international standards and to be accident-free.
Rao, who held review on Roads and Buildings Department, directed that a vision document be prepared on the status of the roads now and how they should be in the next 10 years.
He said construction and repairs of roads has been given top priority and added that the vision document should include aspects like national highways, roads in the state and others.
Noting that roads in America and Europe are impressive, the Chief Minister said emphasis should be on quality.

Expressing anguish on the loss of human lives in road accidents, he suggested that the roads be re-constructed by avoiding turns.
Alternative routes should be explored for those roads where traffic is heavy, said the Chief Minister.
