The Maharashtra state BJP unit announced a co-ordination committee of the ruling BJP-Sena alliance in the state, which did not include any name from the Shiv Sena, which is the second largest constituent of the coalition government.
The six-member co-ordination committee will be headed by Maharashtra BJP chief Raosaheb Danve and also include senior BJP minister Chandrakant Patil, party officials said here today.
When asked about why there is no Shiv Sena representative in the co-ordination committee, BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said, "There is already a co-ordination committee of the two parties (Shiv Sena and BJP) in place."
Other co-ordination committee members include Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athawale, besides Raju Shetty, leader of Swabhiman Paksh, Mahadeo Jankar of the Rashtra Samaj Paksh as well as Vinayak Mete of Shiv Sangram, who are all minor constituents of the ruling alliance.
