A bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra perused the status report filed by the CBI on the investigation done so far after registering an FIR in compliance of an earlier order of the apex court.
"The CBI has filed its status report in the case. It is directed that the CBI conclude the probe in accordance with the law," the bench, also comprising Justices A M Khanwilkar and M M Shantanagoudar, said.
"The agency is doing its job. There is no need to fix a time frame. Let the status report filed by the CBI be kept in sealed cover," it said.
The Supreme Court had in March directed the CBI to takeover the investigation and register the case. It had later directed the probe agency to file a status report on the investigation done so far.
