The two minor girls who were raped after being kidnapped from a hostel in nearby Pollachi on June 12 were examined at the government run Coimbatore Medical College Hospital today, police said.
The girls--aged 10 and 11 years-- were brought from Pollachi this morning and the doctors at the hospital thoroughly examined them and their condition was stated to be stable, police said.
Both the minors were taken and kept in a children's home here, with women police guarding them.
The girls were bodily lifted from the hostel and raped on the terrace of an adjacent building reportedly at knifepoint by two persons who approached them in the wee hours of June 12 on the pretext of asking for water.
The hostel warden had been arrested on June 13 for running the hostel without valid licence for the last 20 years and keeping the inmates without adequate security.
Meanwhile, parents and relatives have started coming and taking back home their wards from the hostel, run by Tamil Evangelic Lutheran Church. So far 11 of the 18 students have been handed over to their respective relatives, they said.
