The directors of RASCA including Surya Singh Besra, Ravindranath Murmu, Jobarani Baske, Kusal Hansda and Ratan Besra at a meeting held here decided to take a serious initiative in this direction soon.
Addressing a press conference, Surya Singh Besra, who is also the president of Jharkhand People's Party (JPP), said at present Santali films does not have any censor board to judge the movies being produced across the country particularly in the eastern region.
As around more than a dozen Santali films were being produced every year, it has become mandatory for us to have a censor board to review the films before it was released to avoid any sort of controversy, he said.
RASCA has decided to organise a three-day workshop in the steel city here in March to give a concrete shape in this regard, he said adding that film directors, producers, actors and others related to Santali films will be invited from across the country to take part in the workshop.
Besides, RASCA will continue to mount pressure on the Jharkhand government to form a Film Development Corporation soon.
Describing the approach of the state government as unfortunate, Besra said almost all the states in the country have their own Film Development Corporation, barring Jharkhand.

"We have been striving for it for long and had discussion with the concerned ministry in the past but nothing was done as yet except assurance," Besra regretted.
Stating that Santali has over a crore population in the country, RASCA director said Santali film has enough scope for development but it remained neglected even after creation of Jharkhand 12 years ago.
A delegation of RASCA would meet Jharkhand Governor soon to apprise him about the necessity of a Film Development Corporation to promote Santali films, which was also being produced in adjoining Nepal and Bangladesh.
Besra announced that the 4th RASCA Santali Film Award-2013 will be organised here on 5th May.
Seven of the 16 Santali films from all over the country and Nepal to be screened in the film award festival will be short-listed and three best films will be awarded in sixteen categories including best producer-director, actor (male/female), lyricists, music director, singer (male/female) etc, he added.
