Rashi downs Deepali to make women's singles main draw

Deepali Gupta, seeded third in the qualifying stage, was beaten in straight games by Rashi Tyagi, who qualified for the women's singles main draw of the USD 20,000 Tata Open Indian International Badminton Challenge here today.
Rashi carved out a 21-17 21-19 win over Deepali in 28 minutes at the Cricket Club of India's badminton hall to earn a meeting with Preethi Konadam in the main draw first round tomorrow.
Notable among others, who made the main draw of women's singles were second seed Tsang Wing Chiu Avery of Hong Kong and Bhavya Rishi who needed three games to prevail over Kanika Kanwal.
