The festival has been organized by the Ministry of Culture in association with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur.
"The event would preserve, promote and popularize the rich cultural heritage of the country and reconnect the new generation," Dimapur NEZCC Director-in-charge, Om Prakash Bharti said.
During the festival, about 5,000 artistes from north east India and 2,000 artistes from across the country will showcase the country's history and tradition through dance, music, theatre and puppetry.
Besides Dimapur, the festival will be held at Majuli (Assam), Khowai (Tripura), Imphal, Aizawl, Gangtok and Shillong.
