According to sources, Rathore sought Gadkari's intervention to improve the condition of the highway, especially the stretch between Bahror and Jaipur.
The highway is important for business, tourism, cargo and is the lifeline of Jaipur (Rural) Lok Sabha constituency, which he represents, as it caters to six of its Assembly constituencies - Kotputli, Bansur, Viratnagar, Shahpura, Amer and Jamva Ramgarh, Rathore is learnt to have told Gadkari.
Seeking to draw Gadkari's attention, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting told the senior minister that the poor condition of the road is not only costing valuable travel time and lives lost on the highway but is also not good for the government's image, the sources said.
