The Union Cabinet approved allowance at the rate of Rs 1697 per month per head to the non-gazetted personnel of A and N Police and personnel of India Reserve Battalions (IRB) in Andaman and Nicobar Islands with immediate effect.
The grant of allowance will fulfill a long-pending demand of the non-gazetted police personnel and personnel of IRBs posted in the Union Territory and bring them on par with the personnel of Delhi Police, official sources said here.
