RattanIndia Power today said it has started generating electricity from the third unit of 270 MW of its 1,350 MW thermal plant in Amravati in Maharashtra.
The company expects to commission the remaining two units of 270 MW each in this fiscal year.
"With this milestone we are well on our path to achieve commissioning of entire 1,350 MW Phase 1 project at Amravati by the end of current financial year," company's Chairman Rajiv Rattan said.
RattanIndia Power is currently developing a total of 5,400 MW coal based projects comprising two 2,700 MW power plants each at Amravati and Nashik in Maharashtra. The company is developing these two projects in two phases.
"We expect to commission the entire 1,350 MW Phase 1 project at Nashik by the end of the calendar year," he said.
The company is already supplying electricity generated from the first two units of Amravati plant to state utility Mahavitaran.
