Ravat, Punjabi appointed as Guj Cong's Gen Secy, VP

Narendra Ravat, who had unsuccessfully contested as Congress candidate from Vadodara after Prime Minister Narendra Modi vacated the seat, was today made General Secretary of the Gujarat Congress.
Ashok Punjabi was made the state party Vice-President, while Kishoresinh Solanki was appointed as the spokesperson.
The office bearers and executive of the PCC had been announced sometime back after former Union Minister Bharatsinh Solanki was made the state party chief.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi also appointed presidents of 15 district Congress committees in the state.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, Modi had contested from Varanasi and Vadodara. He had retained Varanasi.
