Ravi, 66, son of late producer-director B R Chopra, was discharged from Breach Candy hospital last week.
"He was discharged from hospital on October 26," hospital sources said, without divulging details about his health.
Ravi is known for directing films "The Burning Train" (1980), "Aaj Ki Awaaz" (1984), "Baghban" (2003) and "Baabul" (2006) and highly successful television serials such as 'Mahabharat'.
The filmmaker, who is said to be under financial strain, also produced Amitabh Bachchan starrer "Bhoothnath" in 2008.
Ravi's uncle, filmmaker Yash Chopra passed away on October 21.
