 "RBI sets rupee reference rate at Rs 68 against US dollar")
The Reserve Bank of India Monday fixed the reference rate of the rupee at Rs 67.9000 against the US dollar and Rs 74.8801 for the euro.
These rates were Rs 68.0144 and Rs 75.1015 respectively, last Friday.
According to an RBI statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were quoted at Rs 90.9113 and Rs 66.69 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.
The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
