"The RCF-BPCL Sewage Treatment Plant will have state-of- the-art technology with a designed capacity to treat 22.75 Million litres per day [MLD] of Municipal Sewage to produce about 15 MLD of treated water," RCF said in a BSE filing.
Meanwhile, according to RCF sources, the total investment in the plant will be around Rs 200 crore, of which Rs 80 crore will be contributed by the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and the rest Rs 120 crore will be invested by RCF.
The foundation stone ceremony of the plant on November 14 is scheduled to be attended by Fertilizer Minister Ananth Kumar and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, sources added.
The project is being set up with support from Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
