The state election office has recommended re-polling in nine booths, where the voting process was disrupted during the second phase of elections, Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar said Monday.
"We have sent a report to the Election Commission, recommending fresh polling in nine booths spread over four Lok Sabha constituencies -- two each in Sundergarh and Kandhamal, four in Bargarh and one in Aska," he told reporters.
The state election office is waiting for an approval from the EC, Kumar added.
In the second phase on April 18, five Lok Sabha seats and 35 assembly constituencies went to polls.
Re-polling was also held in two booths, one each in Malkangiri and Berhampur assembly segments, during phase two.
The EC had ordered fresh polls in these booths after noticing irregularities in the voting process on April 11, during the first phase of the staggered elections.
