Addressing a gathering at Murbad in Thane district last evening, Rane asked leaders to go to villages, meet people, solve their issues and educate them about economic development and raising their per capita income.
"The per capita income of any region cannot be improved just by contacting people on telephone. You should actually go out and meet people frequently and be in their midst to resolve their issues," he suggested.
People need to be informed about the professional and industrial opportunities for their rise, he expressed.
The allied and ancillary industrial opportunities should be explored and the benefits be given to the villagers as this is the only way to eradicate poverty, Rane said, adding that he has been striving for it in the Konkan region.
