The incident took place last night when Amit and his maternal uncle Suresh Chand, natives of Kankarkheda in Meerut, was waiting outside the house of their lawyer.
The Kavinagar police have raided several hideouts in search of the assailants, officiating senior superintendent of police Ajay Pal Sharma said.
He said as soon as Amit and Suresh got off their car in front of their lawyer's house, the assailants fired indiscriminately at them.
The police officer said a case has been registered and further investigation is on.
