AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmed today visited Azangachhi village under Jaipur police station where alleged Trinammol Congress workers set afire 41 houses and eight paddy stacks on July 9 and assaulted party MLA Asit Mitra the next day when he tried to enter the village with relief materials.
"The state government has to rebuild these houses as they have been damaged by the ruling party workers. If it is not done, we will launch a big movement," Ahmed said at a meeting in the village.
"The terror unleashed by the ruling party now was graver than that did by CPI(M) workers during the Left Front regime," Ahmed alleged.
The victims did not even received any relief from the government, he said and asked whether Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee, who raised slogans of 'Ma-Mati-Manush' (Mother-Land- People) before coming co power, could notice the plight of these people.
