"There will not be any difference of opinion that the increase in the price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder will affect the low and medium class people", Vasan told reporters here at the sidelines of a function here.
"Therefore, the increase in non-subsidised LPG cylinders should be reconsidered. I request Petroleum Minister (Veerappa Moily) to reconsider the decision. The number of subsidised LPG cylinders to a household should also be increased to 12 from nine."

Recently, the Centre had increased the price of non-subsidised LPG, which customers buy after consuming their quota of subsidised cylinders, was hiked by Rs 220 per cylinder due to firming up of international rates.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had slammed the hike and demanded its roll-back saying it would add to miseries of the people.
Vasan was here to inspect the health camp at Chennai Port Trust organised for non-port workers under the corporate social responsibility initiative.
