In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Secretary, CDR's Chief Patron P L Mimroth alleged that the crime against Dalits have rose in Rajasthan, and that steps were not being taken to contain it as the state level monitoring and vigilance committee (MVC) was dissolved.
MVC should not only be re-constituted but it should also hold its meeting at least twice every year, Mimroth said.
MVC should be represented by people working for Human Rights, and MVC be made answerable, in CDR's 15 points demands note the chief patron said.
The budgetary support from the state exchequer should be equivalent to the SC population, that is 17.8 per cent, he added. The land ceiling act and land reforms act should also be effected properly for Dalits' rights, CDR demanded.
The landless labourer be given land for cultivation or grazing of their cattle and they should also be given houses to live in tribal belt of the state, Mimorth said.
