Referee let us down, says Zico

FC Goa coach Zico today once again expressed his displeasure against the refereeing in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament.
"The referee once again let us down, just like in our previous matches. I do not know if they want to take revenge against me, if so I will go home but I do not want my team FC Goa to suffer," the Brazilian legend said after his team's 1-1 draw against Pune City FC here.
He added, "The referee has failed at least on two clear occasion to show yellow card to the rival players just like in our previous match against Mumbai where Darryl Duffy received hairline fracture on his shin bone and is out of the competition.

"Today Leo Moura was brought down after a back kick from rival players but luckily he did not suffer an injury, the referee did not show yellow card to the player who hit him from behind but showed yellow card to other players who argued with him."
Table toppers FC Pune City rallied to draw FC Goa 1-1 and maintain their lead in the tournament.
"Today my team put up their best performance in spite of injuries to several players and I am happy with the players although we could not win despite creating clear chances.

"Our target is to remain among the first four at the end of the first leg and I am happy we have done that before we go into the second leg."

FC Pune City coach David Platt was delighted that his team collected a point from the match.
"It did not surprise me as I read in the paper that they would change the formation and play attacking game, which they did in the first half, creating several chances but could not finish off the moves.
"The second half a couple of changes did work for us as we got the equaliser and helped us to fetch a point. Overall I am happy that we are still at the top and looking for better performance when we move down to south to play against Chennaiyin FC next," stated Platt.
