Refined palmoil falls on poor demand

Groundnut oil remained steady in the absence of any major buying activity.

In non-edible, linseed oil moved down on subdued demand from paint and allied industries. However, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial surge owing to consistant demand from shippers and soap manufacturer.

In futures, castorseeds prices surge on persistent demand following heavy export orders.

In the edible-segment, refined palmoil dropped by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 585 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 595. Groundnut oil closed unaltered at Rs 1,190 per 10 kg.

Turning to non-edible, Linseed oil went down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 705 as against Rs 710 yesterday. On the other hand, castorseed bold gained by Rs 50 per 100 kg to Rs 3,100 from Rs 3,050 and castoroil commercial look up by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 650 from Rs 640.

Moving to futures, castorseed for the September contract resumed higher at Rs 3,240 and rose to Rs 3,300 before concluding at Rs 3,273 as against Rs 3,208 previously, showing a net gain of Rs 65 per tonne.
