Refined palmolein declines on lower demand

Groundnut oil ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Linseed oil eased on subdued demand from paints and allied industries.

Meanwhile, in the non-edible segment, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial firmed up further on good demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures, castorseeds surged on sustained speculative demand following good export enquiries.

In the edible segment, Refined palmolein rose by Rs 4 to Rs 594 per 10 kg from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 598. Groundnut oil held unchanged at Rs 1,160 per 10 kg.

Turning to non-edible segment,Castorseeds bold climbed by Rs 50 per 100 kg to Rs 3,800 from Rs 3,750 and castoroil commercial also gained by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 790 as against Rs 780 last weekend. However, linseed oil slipped by Rs 5 per 10kg to Rs 820 from Rs 825.

Moving to futures, castorseed December contract resumed slightly higher at Rs 4,000 and shot up to close at Rs 4,110 as against Rs 3,992 last weekend, showing a net gain of Rs 118 per tonne.
