Refined palmolein edges up in thin trade

Refined palmolein recovered slightly in an otherwise thin oils and oilseeds market here today on better demand from retailers amid higher Malaysian advices.
Meanwhile, groundnutoil remained stable due to lack of any worthwhile buying.
In non-edible section, castorseeds bold and castor oil commercial regained following modest demand from shippers and soap manufacturing units.
Linseedoil eased on stockists selling owing to lower demand from paint and allied industries.
In the futures market, castorseeds gained modestly on speculative buying on the back of stray export enquiries.
In edible section, Refined palmolein inched up by Re 1 per 10 kg to Rs 511 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 510. Groundnutoil ended unaltered at Rs 1,230 per 10 kg.
Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold gained by Rs 10 per 100 kg to Rs 3,575 from previous closing level of Rs 3,565 and castoroil commercial also added by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 745 from Rs 743. Linseedoil declined by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 785 from Rs 790.
Turning to futures, castorseeds June contract resumed slightly higher at Rs 3,800 and advanced to Rs 3,837 before settling at Rs 3,822 from 3,794 previously, showing a gain of Rs 28 per tonne.
