Refined palmolein firms up on sustained demand

Meanwhile, groundnut oil and linseed oil maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

In non-edible segment, castor oil commercial surged on higher demand from shippers and soap manufacturers. However, castorseed bold witnessed no trading here today.

In futures, castorseeds strengthened on hectic speculative demand amidst persistent export enquiries.

In the edible segment, Refined palmolein climbed by Rs 3 per 10 kg to Rs 625 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 625. Groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 1,220 per 10 kg.

Moving to non-edible segment, Castoroil commercial went up by Rs 20 to Rs 845 per 10 kg from Rs 825. Linseed oil held unaltered at Rs 845 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures, castorseeds for the Sept contract opened higher at Rs 4,400 and moved up further to close at Rs 4,460 as compared to Rs 4,368 previously, showing a net gain of Rs 92 per tonne.
