In the edible segment, Refined palmolein surged by Rs 7 per 10 kg to Rs 622 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 615. Groundnut oil ruled unchanged at Rs 1,220 per 10 kg.
Moving to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold climbed by Rs 75 per 100 kg to Rs 3,975 from Rs 3,900 and Castoroil commercial also shot up by Rs 15 to Rs 825 per 10 kg from Rs 810. Linseed oil held unaltered at Rs 845 per 10 kg.
Turning to futures, castorseeds for the Sept contract opened higher at Rs 4,280 and surged further to close at Rs 4,368 as compared to Rs 4,250 previously, showing a net gain of Rs 118 per tonne.
