Refined soya oil prices traded lower by 1.04 per cent to Rs 588.10 per 10 kg in futures trade today owing to sluggish demand against adequate stock on higher supplies from producing belts.

At National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in August dropped by Rs 6.20, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 588.10 per 10 kg with an open interest of 2,28,795 lots.

The June contract traded lower by Rs 1.05, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 606.60 per 10 kg in 14,060 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in refined soya oil prices to offloading of positions by traders, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market against sufficient stock.
