Refined soya oil weakened by 0.49 per cent to Rs 652.30 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders trimmed their positions, triggered by ample stocks at spot market on higher supplies from producing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month June fell by Rs 3.20, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 652.30 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,24,010 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May contracts shed Rs 1.25, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 637.20 per 10 kg in 4,200 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants, driven by sufficient stocks in the physical market on higher supplies from producing regions against subdued demand, mainly kept refined soya oil prices lower at futures trade.
