Rising for the third straight day, refined soya oil prices were up by 0.26 per cent to Rs 620 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders engaged in enlarging positions amid strong spot demand.
Besides, tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in far-month January 2016 gained Rs 1.60, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 620 per 10 kg with an open interest of 90,510 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in December edged up by 80 paise, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 618.85 per 10 kg in 72,725 lots.
Market analysts said besides tight supplies from growing regions, surging spot market demand mainly kept refined soya oil prices higher.
