Refined soya oil prices traded higher by 0.22 per cent to Rs 661.10 per 10 kg in futures market today as speculators created fresh positions.
The upmove came amid pick-up in demand at the domestic spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in November rose by Rs 1.45, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 661.10 per 10 kg with an open interest of 11,130 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October contracts traded higher by 90 paise, or 0.14 per cent, at Rs 658.50 per 10 kg in 25,230 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following pick-up in demand in the physical market against limited supplies from growing regions mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
