Refined soya oil prices gained 0.36 per cent to Rs 701.50 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June advanced by Rs 2.55, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 701.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,47,000 lots.

The May contract edged up by Rs 1.55, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 721 per 10 kg in 56,090 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built by speculators due to strong demand in the spot market supported by the ongoing marriage season have led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
