Rehab centre director held for raping patient's wife

The director of a private deaddiction and rehabilitation centre at Titwala was today arrested for allegedly raping the wife of a patient.
"The victim's husband was being treated at the centre," Police Sub Inspector D R Kumbhar of Vartak Nagar police station said.
"As per the complaint filled by the victim last evening, the accused - Uttam Vasodia became friendly with her and also frequently her house in the city," he said.
"On three different occasions in between July and August 2015, he raped her in her house. On resistance by the victim, the accused threatened her that he will give wrong treatment to her husband.

"He also threatened her with dire consequences if she narrated the ordeal," the officer added.
A case under section 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, police said, adding investigations are underway.
