"Relationship between universities,industries,RDOs essential"

Tripartite relationship between Universities, Research and Development organizations and industries is essential for innovation to blossom in our country, Director General of Life Sciences, Defence Research and Development Organization, Shashi Bala Singh said today.
In her address at the 33rd convocation of Bharathiar University here, Singh said, Universities have begun concentrating on innovations and research activities, which have to continue in the coming days also.
Appreciating the university, which was ranked 14th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the Distinguished Scientist invited researchers to collaborate with DRDO.
"Researchers can collaborate with DRDO if they are passionate about matters of national security," she said.

University Vice-Chancellor A Ganapathi presided over the function and presented a report on the university's achievements in the past academic year.
"The university has become the only university in the state to be eligible for the status of World Class University," he said.
R Subbaiyan, the founder Vice Chancellor of the University and special guest of the day, was conferred the degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris causa) for his contributions to the university and the field of academia.
A total of 97,169 students received their degrees.
