Relatively warm day in Delhi, mercury rises to 25.4 deg C

It was a relatively warm day in Delhi with the maximum temperature rising to 25.4 degrees Celsius while fog in morning hours disrupted rail services.
Today's maximum was three notches above normal. The minimum temperature also rose to settle at 11 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, said a MeT department official.
Foggy conditions prevailed in morning hours, leading to cancellation of 45 trains. However, flight operations were reported to be normal at Delhi airport. Visibility at 8.30 AM was recorded at 300 metres which improved significantly to 1,500 meters at 11.30 AM, said the official.
The humidity in air oscillated between 97 and 46 per cent.
The MeT office has predicted partly cloudy skies for tomorrow with moderate to dense fog in the morning.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Shallow to moderate fog may occur in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 26 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius, respectively," the official said.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.6 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
