Release of water for Delta region reduced to 2,000 cusecs

: Release of water from Mettur dam for irrigation in Cauvery Delta region was reduced today from 5000 cusecs to 2,000 cusecs, PWD sources said.
They said there was no need for further release as because harvesting was on in full swing in Tiruchirapalli and Thanjavur districts.
Meanwhile the water level in the dam today stood at 52.59 feet against its full level of 120 feet.
The inflow was 83 cusecs and outflow 4,879 cusecs.
