Former Rajasthan Public Service Commission chairman Habib Khan Gauran was granted anticipatory bail in the RJS paper leak case by a local court today even as police were conducting searches to arrest him.
In a relief to the former IPS officer, District and Sessions judge Dinesh Chand Somani granted anticipatory bail to him till November 13 and posted the matter for further hearing the same day.
The Special Operation Group of the Rajasthan Police was conducting searches to arrest Gauran allegedly involved in the leak of Rajasthan Judicial Service paper to help his daughter clear the examination.
"The court has sought case diary from the investigating agency. Muharram was the ground to seek bail," said Gauran's counsel Amar Singh and Gauri Shankar Khandelwal.
ADGP (SOG) Alok Tripathi had directed the Investigating Officer to arrest Gauran following his alleged involvement in the RJS paper leak.
Earlier in the day, Additional SP (Special Operation Group) Lal Chand Kayal said "We have found Gauran involved in RJS paper leak and directions have been issued by the ADGP to arrest him."

Police teams had raided several places in the last couple of days to arrest him, he said.
Gauran was directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on October 17 but he did not turn up and was missing, Kayal said.
Gauran had allegedly taken down questions of the RJS exam for his daughter who cleared the test, he said.
"After it came to light that Gauran had visited the printing press and noted down questions of the RJS paper, a detailed investigation was carried out and records were examined which made it clear that he had leaked the RJS paper," the Additional SP said.
He alleged Gauran's family members were not cooperating with the SOG.
