Several parts of the country received monsoon rains with heavy rainfall in the national capital, some places in Rajasthan and in eastern Uttar Pradesh, but precipitation eluded Bihar, Punjab and Haryana, where sultry weather caused discomfort to people.
In Maharasthra, eight persons have died in rain-related incidents in the past 36 hours.
Gaganbawda taluka received highest rainfall in Kolhapur district in last 24 hours ending at 8 AM today.
An IMD official said heavy rains coupled with thundershowers are likely in the Konkan region, north and south central Maharashtra.

He said following heavy rains in the catchment area of Godavari in Nashik, the authorities there and in Ahmednagar districts have put the villages along the embankment of the river on high alert.
Incessant rains also disrupted rail traffic between Surat (in Gujarat) and Nandurbar as the earth work underneath the tracks was washed away forcing railways to divert traffic.
"Monsoon is going to weaken over the state in next two to three days," India Meteorological Department Bhopal Centre's Director, Anupam Kashyapi, told PTI.
Officials said some flooding has been reported from Sehore district but the situation was under control.
In Rajasthan, two people were washed away in flood waters in two separate incidents, as rains continued to lash several parts of the state with heavy precipitation in Ajmer, Bharatpur and Udaipur divisions.
Dungla in Chittorgarh recorded maximum of 11 cm rains while Danpur in Banswara registered 9 cm rains till the morning since yesterday.
