Relish flavours of mango at Bengal Mango Mela

From 'langra', 'fazli' and 'laxmanbhog' to 'mallika', 'amrapali' and the golden hued 'himsagar', a wide range of varieties of mangoes are up for grabs at the ongoing Bengal Mango Mela here.

Organised by the Government of West Bengal, the sixth edition of the annual mela that began on June 16, is celebrating the king of fruits in all its hues and flavours.

"Himsagar is the most extraordinary mango and is famous for its complete absence of fibre and unparalleled sweetness," one of the sellers at the event at Handloom Haat in Janpath, said.

A slice of each variety of the fruit is being given out to customers for sampling, allowing them to choose their favourite variant.
