"He was one of the finest officers with a very strong faith and belief in norms... When I was Civil Aviation Minister he had taken all efforts to check corrupt practises (in the industry)," Ravi said.
"It is a surprise to me that he has been removed," Ravi said.
When asked whether he received any complaint against Bhushan during his tenure, Ravi said "I may have received some complaints but whenever I checked I found that the DGCA (Bhushan) was right all the time."
Bhushan was yesterday abruptly removed from his key position, six days after his tenure was extended till this year end.
Bhushan, who was the Director General of Civil Aviation for nearly two years, has been replaced by Prashant Narain Sukul, a Joint Secretary in the Ministry.
