Remove illegal construction in wards: MCD mayor to officials

After multiple inspections in north Delhi, its Mayor today directed the officials to remove unauthorised construction over drains and encroachment on civic land to ease movement of traffic.
North Delhi Municipal Corporation mayor Azad Singh inspected Shalimar Bagh Legislative Assembly area covering wards no 53 (Pitampura South), 54 (Pitampura North), 55 (Shalimar Bagh North) and 56 (Shalimar Bagh South) and said that the Corporation's first priority was to provide basic amenities and civic services to its citizens.
"During the inspection of ward no 53, the mayor directed the officials to remove unauthorised construction over drains and encroachment on municipal land to ease movement of traffic in the area," North Delhi Municipal Corporation public relations officer Yogendra Singh Mann said.
He also expressed unhappiness over state of sanitation and cleanliness in the ward (53) and asked the concerned officials to ensure daily collection and disposal of garbage, Mann said.
"While inspecting Pitampura North ward, he directed the officials to improve the condition of roads, which were in damaged condition in SU block.
"In Shalimar Bagh (North & South) wards, he directed the officials to demolish the old structure of public toilet and develop a gymnasium or other community service there," the public relations officer added.

Singh also inspected a construction work and directed the officials to speed up the work.
During the inspection, the mayor also visited municipal schools and interacted with students about their education facilities there.
He also inspected the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose community centre and directed the officials to develop the community hall into an air-conditioned facility, Mann said.
