Speaking at the rallies, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki said that Nagaland is the least developed among the seven northeastern states due to rampant corruption. "Nagaland is in pathetic condition and people have not benefitted from the fruits of the central government," he said. Tuki said, his government had taken initiatives on the road sector and that roads have been constructed upto the Nagaland border but no initiative was taken on Nagaland's side, clearly reflecting corruption and bad governance. Nagaland Leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP), Tokheho Yepthomi said, in its 10 year-rule, the DAN government had ruined the state and all development funds had been embezzled by Rio and a handful of his people. Nothing had been done by the government in the backward districts, particularly in Tuensang, Kiphire, Longleng and Mon, he alleged. "There is no governance, Rio has only ruled the state,"he said and wondered where the public funds disappeared. Former state chief minister and Governor of Goa and Maharashtra, SC Jamir too lashed out at the DAN government and urged the people to reject the corrupt dispensation.
