Alvi said those who deliberately raise such controversies never tell people about what the religion says about the rights of girls in father's property which is a major issue. He said "we never talk about it as it is a religious issue and we do not interfere in religious affairs". "Such people also do not tell people that the religion says that hands of those who commit theft should be amputated and that those who commit rape are stoned to death", he said hailing the steps taken by Jammu and Kashmir government on the threats to the all-girls band.
